Information and Privacy
Reading an engineering explanation should not require an account or a personal profile.
Who is responsible
Polarbrowsecomt Engineering Ltd is responsible for personal information it processes in connection with polarbrowsecomt.com. Our registered office is 37 Micklegate, York YO1 6JH, United Kingdom; company no. 14692853. For privacy questions or rights requests, email [email protected].
Reading the website
This is a static informational website. Its page scripts do not include advertising trackers, analytics libraries, account registration or a message-submission service. Hosting and network services necessarily receive technical request information, which can include an IP address, request time, requested file, browser information and error details. Such information may be processed to deliver pages, diagnose faults and protect the service.
Where technical information is personal data, the relevant purpose is reliable and secure website operation, based on our legitimate interests in providing that service. This does not authorise unrelated marketing or profiling.
The question worksheet
Text entered into the worksheet is processed in the current page on your device. The tool does not transmit it or save it to cookies or local storage. Copying uses your browser’s clipboard permission and places the note on your system clipboard. Downloading creates a text file on your device. You control subsequent storage, sharing and deletion of those copies.
If you email us
We receive the contact details, message content and attachments you choose to send, together with normal email metadata. We use them to consider your enquiry, respond where appropriate and handle corrections or legal requests. The usual basis is our legitimate interest in responding to correspondence; legal obligations may apply to particular records. Do not send sensitive personal data or confidential technical material that is unnecessary for your question.
Recipients and international processing
Hosting and email providers may process information to operate those services. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information where lawfully required or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. If a service arrangement involves a restricted international transfer, an applicable legal transfer mechanism is required.
Retention and security
Information is kept only for as long as needed for its purpose, including relevant security, legal and dispute-handling needs. Correspondence may need to be retained longer when a matter remains unresolved. We do not state a fixed log retention period because it depends on the operational service and the reason a record is needed. Email and internet communications cannot be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
Subject to the conditions and exemptions in applicable data protection law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal information and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office, or the competent supervisory authority where applicable. You can also contact us first so we can consider the concern.
External links and updates
Following a source link takes you to a separate website with its own practices. Our pages load photographs as local website assets rather than requesting them from third-party image hosts. See Browser Storage Notes for the distinction between cookies, local storage and browser caching. Material changes to this notice will be reflected on this page.
